How often do you feel like you were left by the whole world alone? The weather is bad: cold wind is blowing, the rain is drizzling, and it’s not so strong, but these little drops irritatingly hit your face, you were reprimanded for your past mistakes on your work, coffee is not tasty, even your mobile phone, that always rings and oscillates from messages and telephone rings, was traitorously silent. Someone is telling you something but these words only irritate you, and little by little you start quarrelling. You don’t even want your favourite ice-cream in waffle tumbler, you do not want to smile, when you see another advertisement on big board, which was funny yesterday, you are tired of everything, everyone do not care, you were left alone with the whole world.
Is it familiar to you? If you considered for a moment, it means, that depression had saddened bright colours of your life. And there is no wonder, because, according to official returns of World health organisation (WHO), depression became the leading among the causes, which influence on employee’s not coming for work. Moreover, if some serious and effective measures of struggling against this “epidemic” of new century are not to be taken, human development could not only slacken its pace, but even stop by 2020 year. According to the statistics of the same organisation, every year more than 150 million of people in the world lose their ability to work because of depression.
So what is it this “wind of sadness”? Depression is psychological condition of human, which goes with feeling of tiredness, mental experience, excessive irritation of person, feeling of apathy. As a rule, lingering depression can turn into illnesses of nervous system, which flow into chronic type. Person feels psychologically bad, he starts to hesitate in his or her own mental straight, and he or she began to have complexes about some insignificant things. Some events, which had shocked person's consciousness, are often called the reasons of depression. For example, unexpected death of close person, or series of misfortunes in private life (as a rule at a teen age), the situation, when person is looking for job for a long period of time, but cannot find it (what is widespread among the people of 40-45 years of old), loneliness and neglect by surrounding people (it is widespread among aged people). And what is more dangerous is that depression can continue for a long period of time. Without measures of its extirpation, such psychological condition leads to aggravation of person, exacerbate all of proceeding illnesses, and also can lead to desperate step like committing suicide.
What is interesting, more than half of suffering from depression think that it is their own fault and do not consult a doctor. Such decision is wrong, because it is very hard to resist the depression and to “heal” yourself without a competent psychiatric help. So in which way did medicine fights against person's apathy? And in which way is it fighting with depression now? To the 19th century inclusive very specific method was in use. The physical pain was considered to be the thing, which distracts patient from his or her mental experience. Keeping person without food for a long period of time, whipping or throwing cold water on them – were quite real “medicines” of the past. After the discovery of drugs and psychotropic agents mankind tried to take a decisive step to the healthy life. Marijuana, cocaine and also alcohol were used as medicine.
Nowadays, opinions on such maneuvers are quite polysemantic. People use antidepressants, which are made from synthetic or natural products. Tea, especially green tea, is the most popular among them. If you take about a liter of this drink during the whole day, it will not only strengthen your nervous system, but bring a psychological equilibrium into your life. Considerable quantity of vitamin C, which contains in this juice, will not only maintain your nervous system, but the immunity in the whole. But we strongly recommend consulting the psychiatrist, who will prescribe you necessary procedures, if there is a need of it, some medicines and who just can help you with competent piece of advice, when you have symptoms of depression. People with our mentality consider that only “lost” people appeal to psychiatrist. In fact, it is quite not like that. Such specialists in psychology always work with famous politicians, businessmen, public figures not because this people are ill, but it is easier to prevent chronic disease connected with nervous system, than to treat it. And it is also a well-known fact that nerve endings of human do not renew.
