How I managed anorexia. Advice.

…He came to me one day and said: “I really love you. Nothing in this world can ruin our relationship.” And kissed me, then added “But one thing…If you weighted 5 kg less. It would be great”. The inflexion of the first and the last phrases didn’t change. So I decided to lose my weight. Imagine: only 5 kg less, it’s not a big problem.
I got a low-calorie diet. It was a grapefruit diet. And when I weighted 53 kg instead of 60, I didn’t feel satisfaction. I wanted to lose more. I wished to be like Keira Knightley. Then I wanted to look up her diet in internet. But I saw only “anorexia” term everywhere. Of course, I knew a little about this disorder but I thought that it was the problem of stupid girls like Lindsey Lohan or teen-girls who wanted to be a model and considered jutting out bones look beautiful. I thought that Knightley’s figure is the gift of nature as well. I was mistaken.
I read many things about this disorder and thanked God that I had only early stage of this illness. I already got the symptoms of dysmenorrhea, insomnia and annoying wish to lose more and more weight.
I read that I wouldn’t have babies because dysmenorrhea could turn into amenorrhea. I read about cases of Victoria Beckham and Whitney Huston. I saw their photos and I didn’t find them cool. I recognized that Vicky wants to have another baby but she can’t thanks to her anorexia. I read I would refuse to eat at all several weeks later.
I went to psychologist who told me that I was displeased with my appearance while a teenager. That’s why I faced this problem, when I was almost 29. Psychologist took a special course with me. She watched every time how much I took for lunch and if I could control myself. We found out which products made me nervous and which gave me energy and relaxation. First three month, I asked my friends to control me and how much I eat. I and my ex-boyfriend separated. My psychologist explained me that of all the men I chose the one to “show” me my psychological problems.
When I found my psychological troubles, my ex lost his interest in me as well as I did. Now I have another boyfriend who finds my weight and parameters ok.
But the work with psychologist was terrible, difficult and cost me very much money. And though I got good result in less than 6 months, I could buy another new car for the money I had paid my consultant.
Here are the facts one should now about anorexia, susceptibility to illness and treatment.
Test yourself. You have susceptibility to anorexia if:
• When a child you found your nose, weight, legs etc ugly.
• You became inflamed when you heard that guys of your school said that you’re a freak, even though you knew it was not so.
• More than half of your family had overweight or, more exactly, you thought so (This is Jessica Alba’s case).
• Your present weigh and parameters are ok, but you still think you should correct them.
• You can’t refuse to eat food for a long time and can hardly turn back to normal nutrition.
You have the early stage of anorexia if
• You want to lose weight a little bit more.
• You know that your permanent weight is less than you wanted before diet but you think you’re still fat.
• You want to stop dieting but you can’t.
• Your weight is less than normal but no less than 5 kg.
• You got insomnia, nervousness and dysmenorrhea.
What you should know if you got anorexia:
• You should consult with the psychologist if you have the symptoms.
• You should control yourself and how much you eat even if you are alone. There are some special gadgets which show whether you have eaten enough or not.
• Ask your friends to control the quantity of food you eat.
• Read to yourself affirmations like “my weight is ok and I eat well”.
• Consult with the dietitian. He must create some special menu for you.
You can avoid anorexia if:
• You begin loving yourself, you should visit psychologist who can persuade you that you are quite normal.
• You will start your own special menu and began enjoying every component of it.
• You buy clothes in which your figure looks normal and very sexy.
• You can change your idols like Keira Knightley or Victoria Beckham into normal Kate Winslet or Scarlet Johansson.
• Try breathing exercises. This can stop your stress which can lead to eating disorders.
We will hope these tips help you avoid or cure early stages of anorexia.
